GHANA'S DELEGATION TO MADRID INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE FAIR PAY COURTESY CALL ON AMBASSADOR Members of Ghana's delegation to the maiden Madrid International Chocolate Fair (Salon del Chocolate), have paid a courtesy call on Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Her Excellency Elizabeth Adjei. The Fair, scheduled for 13th to 16th September, 2018 at the La Galleria del Cristal, Cibeles Palace in Madrid, Spain is aimed at giving cocoa producers, processors, the culinary fraternity and consumers a unique opportunity to interact and explore various avenues that serve their mutual interests. Ghana will use its enviable record in the areas of cocoa production and processing to reposition Ghana's quality cocoa as the preferred choice for premium chocolatiers the world over. Meeting the delegation at the Embassy in Madrid, Ambassador Elizabeth Adjei noted that trade and bilateral relations were growing and that the Fair would provide an excellent opportunity for Ghana to explore its trade potentials. “Cocoa is the main export commodity for Ghana and since most of the audience are consumers who know little or nothing about cocoa, we must take advantage of this event to market Ghana and its premium quality cocoa to the world”, she added. According to the Ambassador, Spain is the culinary capital of the world and that the team must do everything possible to promote Ghana at the Fair. Dr. Emmanuel Agyemang Dwomoh, Ag. Executive Director of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), who led the delegation to the Fair, was thankful to the Ambassador and her team for the supportive role they played in facilitating Ghana's participation in the Fair. He was optimistic that the outcome of the Salon del Chocolate would largely benefit the Ghanaian Cocoa Industry. Mr. Ekow Rhule, Public Affairs Manager for the Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) assured the Ambassador of the team’s preparedness for a successful fair. The delegation is made up of officials from COCOBOD, the Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) and Niche Cocoa Ltd.
